\tAbout Us \u2014 CAFS (Centre for Advancement of Financial Safety)<\/p>\n

CAFS is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening financial protection, digital security, and consumer rights across Ethiopia. As the country rapidly transitions into a digital financial era, millions of citizens depend on mobile banking, online payments, and decentralized financial tools. While these innovations bring opportunity, they also expose people to new risks \u2014 fraud, identity theft, unauthorized transactions, and systemic vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n

\tCAFS was founded to bridge this critical gap by empowering citizens, supporting affected communities, and advocating for safer financial systems.<\/p>\n

\tOur work focuses on three core pillars:<\/p>\n

\t1. Financial Rights Protection <\/strong><\/p>\n

We ensure individuals understand their financial rights and have the knowledge to defend themselves. This includes education on safe transactions, dispute resolution, consumer protection laws, and recognizing early signs of fraud. We also provide guidance for individuals facing financial misconduct or unfair treatment.<\/p>\n

2. Digital Safety & Cyber Awareness<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ethiopia\u2019s growing digital ecosystem requires strong public awareness of cyber threats. CAFS develops training programs, awareness campaigns, and resource materials to help citizens safely navigate mobile payments, digital wallets, and online financial platforms. Our goal is to reduce vulnerability and foster a culture of responsible digital behavior.<\/p>\n

3. Transparency & Accountability<\/strong><\/p>\n

We collaborate with financial institutions, regulators, law enforcement, and advocacy groups to promote transparency in financial operations. By encouraging ethical practices and supporting better oversight, CAFS helps build trust within Ethiopia\u2019s financial infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Beyond these pillars, CAFS actively supports vulnerable groups affected by online fraud, works on community-based prevention programs, and assists in developing stronger financial safety policies.
